At AeroWave, security isn’t optional – it’s essential. That’s why Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a mandatory part of securing your account. It ensures that even if your password is ever compromised, no one can access your account without your second layer of verification.
We support both TOTP apps (like Google Authenticator or Authy) and YubiKey hardware keys for added flexibility.
Why Is 2FA Mandatory #
We believe strong security should come as standard – not as an optional extra. That’s why all AeroWave users are required to set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) the first time they log in.
You won’t be able to access your dashboard, services, or account information until 2FA is enabled. This protects your account from unauthorised access, even if someone gets hold of your password.
Here’s what to expect:
- You’ll be automatically prompted to set up 2FA when you first log in.
- There is no option to skip or postpone – it’s a required step for account access.
- You’ll need to choose one of our supported 2FA methods: TOTP (e.g. Authenticator app) or YubiKey (hardware-based security key).
- Once set up, you’ll use this second verification step each time you log in, along with your password.
This process only takes a minute or two – but it significantly increases the security of your account and helps us prevent fraud, data breaches, and unauthorised access across our platform.
Setting Up 2FA #
You’ll be presented with two secure setup options:
1. Time-Based One-Time Password (TOTP) #
Use any major authenticator app, such as:
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Microsoft Authenticator
- 1Password
Just scan the QR code shown on screen during setup, and enter the 6-digit code from your app to complete the process.
2. YubiKey (Hardware 2FA) #
Prefer a physical method? You can use a YubiKey (or similar FIDO2-compatible security key) to protect your account. When prompted during setup, simply insert or tap your YubiKey to register it.
Note: During the initial setup, you’ll need to choose one method — either TOTP or YubiKey. You can update your 2FA method later from your account settings.
