Understanding Account Lockouts and How to Unlock Your Account

1 min read

If you’ve been locked out of your AeroWave account, don’t panic. Lockouts are typically a safety measure triggered by too many failed login attempts, incorrect 2FA codes, or potential suspicious activity. Here’s how to understand why it happened and more importantly, how to get back in.

Why Your Account Might Be Locked #

To keep your account secure, we automatically lock access in certain situations:

  • Too Many Failed Login Attempts: Several incorrect password or 2FA code entries can temporarily lock your account.
  • Suspicious Login Activity: We may lock access if we detect a login attempt from a location, IP address, or device that doesn’t match your usual activity.
  • Disabled or Incomplete 2FA Setup: If 2FA is required and hasn’t been completed, your account may be restricted until it is.
  • Security Review or Breach Prevention: In rare cases, we may manually lock an account as a precaution based on unusual account activity or reported compromised.

Locking your account isn’t a punishment – it’s a protection step to safeguard your data and services.

Step 1. Try Logging In Again Later #

If your account was locked due to too many incorrect attempts, the lock is usually temporary:

  • Wait 15–30 minutes before trying to log in again.
  • Make sure you’re using the correct email and password.
  • If you’ve forgotten your login details, continue to step 2.

Step 2: Reset Your Password #

  1. Go to your AeroWave Dashboard by clicking here
  2. Click Forgot Password?
  3. Enter the email address associated with your account
  4. Follow the instructions to reset your password securely

If your account is still locked after resetting your password, move to step 3.

Step 3: Log In Using Your Backup Code #

If your account is locked because of 2FA issues and you no longer have access to your device, you can log in using your backup code:

  • When you first set up 2FA, we showed you a unique one-time backup code.
  • This code bypasses your usual authentication method if needed.
  • Enter your email and password, then select “Use Backup Code” when prompted.

Can’t find your backup code? Go to step 4.
